Carling Technologies, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively “Carling”) are committed to respecting your privacy.  Carling has established and implemented this privacy policy to inform visitors of the website and users of our services how we use and protect the information we collect from our websites and services.

Carling may also collect Technical Information about you when you visit our websites, which your web browser automatically sends whenever you visit a website on the Internet. "Technical Information" is information that does not, by itself, identify a specific individual but which could be used to indirectly identify you. Our servers automatically record this information, which may include your Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser language, and the date and time of your request. Gathering your information helps us ensure our websites and other services work correctly and support our customer analytic efforts.

We use pixel tags and cookies in our marketing emails and landing pages so that we can track your interaction with those messages, such as when you open the email or click a URL link embedded within them. When recipients click on one of those URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on a company website. We use tools like pixel tags and cookies so that we can determine interest in particular topics and measure and improve the effectiveness of our communications.

Use of Personal Information

Carling uses your personal information to provide you products and services, such as to fulfill your requests for products or to help us personalize our offerings to you. We also use your personal information to support our business functions, such as fraud prevention, marketing, and legal functions. To do this, we combine personal and non-personal information, collected online and offline, including information from third party sources.  Personal information collected from you may be used for the following:

We rely on Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to analyze your use of our website. The information generated by Google Analytics is subject to Google’s privacy policy and will be transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the USA.  Prior to the transfer, it will be anonymized by removing the last octet of your IP address. Google will then process it on our behalf in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to the operation of our website.  Google will not link your IP address with any other data held by Google.  You may refuse the use of cookies for the aforesaid purposes by setting your browser accordingly; however, in that case, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the website.

We also utilize the services of Terminus Software, Inc, to analyze data on usage of our website and help us tailor advertisements to website users.  The information generated by Terminus is subject to their privacy policy and is stored by Terminus on their servers in the USA.  Terminus will use that information to provide us with services related to the operation of our website, including the transmission of targeted advertising as described in this privacy policy.  You may refuse the use of cookies for the aforesaid purposes by setting your browser accordingly; however, in that case, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the website. 

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

Carling will not rent or sell your Personal Information to others but may disclose personal information with our sales representatives as well as third-party vendors and service providers that work with us. We will only share personal information to these vendors and service providers to help us provide a product or service to you. Examples of third parties we work with are call center operators, shippers, servicers, marketing agencies, information processors, or financial institutions. These third parties only have access to personal information necessary for them to complete their service.  In cases of onward transfer to third parties of your personal data, Carling shall ensure that any third-party agents that it engages to process such personal data on its behalf do so in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, and may assume responsibility under GDPR if such third parties fail to do so (unless Carling proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage).

Carling is not responsible for any personal information collected through these means.  Information collected is governed through the third party's website's Privacy Policy. Any interactions you have with these web websites, services, or applications are beyond the control of Carling. Use of Cookies and Other Technologies 

Carling uses cookies to operate and improve our website as well as to simplify our interaction with you.  A "cookie" is a unique numeric code that we transfer to your computer so that we can keep track of your interests and/or preferences and recognize you as a return visitor to the websites. When you visit our websites, our servers send a cookie to your computer or mobile device to help personalize your experience and advertisements. Cookies help us better understand user behavior and facilitate effectiveness of advertisements. Cookies only stand to recognize your web browser but information collected from cookies is not personally identifiable.   

We engage on our website in interest based advertising, including retargeting or remarketing technology provided by third parties to analyze your navigation on our website. Based on that, we are able to approach you with personalized advertisements. For this purpose, cookies are stored on your computer.  During your visit to our website, we do not collect any personalized data, only anonymized data.  We use this data to approach you with advertisements on third party websites which are personalized according to your interests in our products, e.g. after you have visited our website and showed interest in a particular series of products, this technology may later show you more information in form of advertisements while surfing on another website.  You can adjust your browser settings to not store such cookies and to delete already stored cookies.

Security Measures Taken to Protect Personal Information 

Security of all information is of the utmost importance for Carling. Carling uses technical and physical safeguards to protect the security of your personal information from unauthorized disclosure. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Hypertext Transport Protocol Secure (HTTPS) Eloqua to keep all information secure. We also make all attempts to ensure that only necessary people and third parties have access to personal information. Nevertheless, such security measures cannot prevent all loss, misuse or alteration of personal information and we are not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to any such incidents to the fullest extent permitted by law. In the case of a data breach, we will notify you without delay of any loss, misuse or alteration of personal information that may affect you. We will notify relevant regulatory bodies within 72 hours of a breach.

We require that our third party service providers and channel partners agree to keep all confidential information we share with them and to use the information only to perform their obligations in the agreements we have in place with them. These third party service providers and channel partners are expected to maintain privacy and security protections that are consistent with our privacy and information security policies.

Our website and services are primarily directed towards the general audience and are not directed towards children.
