Job Summary:

Support and interface with Receiving, Production and Quality organization through inspection and developing inspection plans.

Essential Job Function:

• Perform In Process and Final Inspection functions on all material in WIP / being shipped.
• Perform Incoming Inspection functions on incoming material (PCB assemblies, components, assemblies, sheet metal, cables, electronic components, machined parts).
• Using written procedures, perform daily inspection of incoming material and document results.
• Move conforming material to the stockroom. Move nonconforming material to the MRB area. Submit material for addition to the Ship-to-Stock program per documented guidelines.
• Support MRB activities, chair meetings when necessary. Move dispositioned material to the proper area, complete and process necessary documentation.
• Review materials purge requests and perform purges as necessary. Notify other areas and/or suppliers of purge requirements as required. Coordinate collection and disposition or purged material.
• Assist other areas as needed in requests for support such as part identification or expediting inspection of urgently needed material.
• Inspect and process non-inventory and return-to-stock material following established procedures.
• Perform detailed first article inspections when required and document results. Interface with appropriate parties, as directed, to address issues noted.
• Generate Engineering Change Requests (ECO's) as needed to correct drawing issues noted during inspection.
• Use computer terminals and networked PC's to access various programs
• Maintain work areas in conformance with all safety requirements. Maintain good housekeeping by maintaining an organized work area, free of litter and other non – utilized items.
• Follow through on corrective actions to solve problems through root cause analysis.
• Assist in performing internal Quality System audits
• Maintain accurate records of inspection activity, including part history records, nonconformance reports, and ship-to-stock requests.

Recommended Education / Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in a manufacturing environment
• IPC-A-610 Certification Required
• Must be knowledgeable in workmanship standards: J-STD-001, & IPC 600
• Required to utilize basic test equipment and hand tools. Use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
• Experience with using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) for soldered connections.
• ESD knowledge preferred
• Experience working with electronic components, preferably with SMT soldering. Familiar with PCB assembly and/or instrumentation knowledge preferred. Ability to witness test and understand electrical test data
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 (With a focus on customer specific requirements related to job).
• Core Tools (AIAG – MSA’s)
• Experience with all related manufacturing and test documentation packages (Drawings, ATPs, ECOs and failure reports).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, customer specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
• Must possess communication skills with the ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
• Be able to work with versatility and flexibility in a multi-task environment.
• Basic computer skills, and familiarity with measuring arms/CMM are also required.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
