Job Summary:

Develop, execute and/or implement plans and procedures in the following areas according to company policies, metrics and goals.

• ECO Processing & Document Control
• Product Configuration Management
• Special Product Configuration System, including Configurit
• Engineering Data required for MRP including BOM and Routing
• Sustaining Engineering Activities

Essential Job Function:

• Direct, guide and manage engineering support activities to global manufacturing facilities, including but not limited to analyzing and validating component alternative sourcing, deviations, problem solving and RMAs
• Plan and manage product enhancement and value added engineering projects assigned to Product Engineering
• Provide guidance to product engineers to effectively participate in and contribute to new product development projects
• Initiate and implement cost reductions on existing products
• Develop and implement processes for product documentation to effectively support new business
• Product Configuration Process Owner; manages engineering activities related to the creation of new product configurations needed to support new business opportunities
• ECO Process Owner; manages approval and implementation of the global ECO process
• Document Control Process Owner
• Creates and manages the protocol for Engineering ERP data storage
• Motivate, coach and mentor team member to successfully perform assigned job functions effective planning, time management and communications
• Identify, plan and implement continual improvements within the department
• Assist in developing employee career plans. Take disciplinary actions as necessary
• Propose department budget and resources
• Hire Product Engineering staff
• Conduct staff performance reviews
• Take disciplinary actions including termination
• Stop and resume production according to company policy

Recommended Education / Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6 years working experience in 3-D parametric design software (Pro E preferred)
• 2 years’ management experience preferred
• Strong background in ERP software and processes
• Ability to plan and execute complex engineering projects
• Commitment to meeting or exceeding department goals measured by results
• Excellent leadership skills such as team building and coaching, negotiation, resource management, prioritization, etc
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles in problem solving
• Must be able to read blue prints. Competent in CAD and GD&T
• Able to use PLM (PDMLink & ProjectLink) for project collaboration
