Job Summary:

The primary function of then Product Engineer is to provide technical expertise and product knowledge needed to support manufacturing, sales of current and new products, development of new products.

Essential Job Function:

• Manages projects involving modifications or enhancements to existing products.
• Participates in new product development projects by giving inputs regarding product designs, functionality and release of engineering documentation.
• Supports product and cost improvement projects.
• Prepare sketches, layouts, detail drawings and 3-D designs. Select materials and components, Lead or participate in design reviews.
• Review/Approve Bills of Material requested through the sales and marketing departments.
• Support technical sales personnel in answering technical and application questions from customers.
• Assists quality in determining material dispositions and analysis of returned material.
• Supports the Purchasing Department in locating and approving new sources of supply.
• Supports manufacturing plants in solving production problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Product Engineering Supervisor/Manager.

Recommended Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in 3-D parametric design software. (Pro E preferred)
• Working knowledge of engineering mechanics and electrical circuits.
• Understanding and ability to apply sound engineering approach to create, verify and validate designs.
• Understanding of problem-solving methodology and ability to apply it for solving complex technical problems.
• Able to use PLM (PDMLink & ProjectLink) for project collaboration. Experience in various computer programs necessary in day-to-day work.
• Experience in process improvement.
• Must be able to read blue prints.
• Competent in CAD and GD&T.
• Proactive, dedicated to success measured by results.
• Ability to work in fast paced work environment, while managing long-term responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people.
